Links I Love: Ginger Scallion Ramen, Pretty Dog Accessories + Magic Mushrooms.

ginger scallion ramen noodles

If you follow me on social media, you’ll see my pup’s face all over it. That’s because she turned one year old this week. The week has been filled with reminiscing through videos and pictures of when her head was the size of a tennis ball (it’s true, we have pictures to prove it.) Time passes in the blink of an eye so you mine as well spend it enjoying things like this ginger, scallion ramen recipe I made recently. Yum.

I think I finally found dog accessories to match Marlowe perfectly.

Make a difference and look good doing it. This eco-friendly activewear brand just restocked.

If it’s a favorite of Buddhist monks, sign me up. I swear my mornings are more productive after adding this to my coffee.

I didn’t understand the Green Book Oscar’s backlash until I listened to this.

Meet Marlowe.

Meet Marlowe, our now 5-month old cockapoo that has turned my life upside down. I thought it was time to finally introduce her since I feel confident I won’t break her and somewhat know what I’m doing. It’s been quite a journey. Although I have grown up with dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, you name it, it’s a completely different experience raising a puppy.

Some things that Marlowe loves: socks, watermelon, sleeping with her back legs out like frog legs, kisses, blow dryers and barking at dogs that are 5x bigger than her.

Get ready for the cuteness overload that will slowly be taking over this blog.

Links I Love: Yoga, Plants + Prints

When warm weather is coming, everyone is just in a better mood. I walked outside on Saturday to an 80 degree day and everyone was out around the neighborhood with a smile on their face. You know what else I’m excited for? Endless days outdoors in the sunshine. I have a concert, week at the beach and some mini weekend getaways planned. What other summer activities does everyone have planned? I hope everyone enjoys their week! I linked some fun things below.

If you’re looking to perfect your green thumb, these workshops might do the trick.

My mantra lately.

I’m loving these minimal prints. Thinking of picking up one of them for my vanity.

I tried “Yoga For People Who Put On Gangsta Rap and Handle It” as described by Vogue.

Summer planning is in full effect. Have you seen this lineup?

I’d like for these to be the next addition to my athleisure collection.

For the introvert.

When a new show is based in your city, you have to give it a watch. FYI: I’m hooked.

Above photo taken by me last week at 33rd and Broadway. Look at those blooms! xx

Links I Love: Statement Earrings, Cheese + A Good Documentary

It hit 80 degrees this past Wednesday and it has me in full on spring mode. I find myself adding off-the-shoulder dresses and open-toed mules to my shopping cart even though I’m looking at a rainy and cold week ahead. Until the warmer weather actually does come, I’m spending my time spring cleaning, redesigning my apartment and planning indoor activities. Here are a few things I’ve been bookmarking and adding to my Spring wishlist….

A fun idea for a date night.

This two-piece is perfect for summer.

This documentary will make you appreciate rainy days.

Consider adding this little bottle to your nighttime routine.

Adding these statement earrings to my wishlist. One day, one day.

This piece would make a statement to any room.

Some boss inspo to get you ready for the work week.

Five Things From The Weekend

It’s nice to take a moment, at home, and appreciate the little things. This weekend, I did that; errands, breaking into a stack of magazines on my coffee table, going through my closet and attempting to minimize my apartment. Here are some things I discovered this weekend:

My Favorite Books From 2017

One of my favorite hobbies? Sitting on the subway, reading a book. It’s a nice escape for me. Something just feels good reading about someone else’s life and problems, even if its fiction. Anyway, I’ve read many good books and I want to share the love with you all.. these are my favorite books I’ve read in 2017.

Where We Belong: A Novel by Emily Griffin

A New York City television producer is living the dream. Until she finds someone on her doorstep that will turn her world upside down.

What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship, and Love by Carole Radziwill

Writer and RHONY star, Carole Radziwill’s “What Remains” is a memoir of her earlier life. From growing up in Upstate New York to watching her become a successful journalist (and princess), in the end she ends up dealing with more tragedy and loss than the average person can bear.

Champagne Supernovas by Maureen Callahan

When my friend recommended this book to me, I was eternally grateful. From the glamour and darkness of the fashion industry in New York City in the 90’s, this book hones in on the rise of Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen’s careers.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

A national bestseller, this book is one of my all time favorites. Something so different than what I usually read. A New Yorker visits her boyfriend’s wealthy and very traditional Chinese family. You learn so much about the Chinese culture, all while reading about a dramatic twenty-something love story. So good, you guys.

China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan

So Kevin Kwan made a sequel to Crazy Rich Asians, called China Rich Girlfriend. I don’t want to give anything away, just read this after the first one. You won’t be disappointed!

The Girls: A Novel by Emma Cline

Based in Northern California in the 1960s. Eerily similar to the Manson Family, a young teenager ends up joining a cult.

Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler

An Ohio girl makes her way to the big city in hopes of turning her life around. In NYC, she becomes a waitress, gets herself in a love triangle and learns about endless food and wine.

The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines

One of my guilty pleasures? HGTV. Based on the hit renovation show, Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna tell their story of how they built their family and business.

Small Great Things: A Novel by Jodi Picoult

Out of all the books I’ve chosen to read, this one is the darkest and realist. Based around the realities of racism, this book starts with a nurse making the choice between saving a babies life and losing her job.

Into the Water: A Novel by Paula Hawkins

Love murder mysteries? This book is for you. Based in a small town where women wind up floating in the river, a single mother who has been investigating these disappearances ends up in the river herself.

The Key To Making Your Resolutions Come True.

I’m a firm believer that you can make a change at any moment in your life. However, I do love the fresh “new chapter” vibe of the New Year, it gives me a feeling of opportunity and optimism. So why not take advantage? I think the trick to fulfilling as many resolutions as possible is balancing them out. Mixing hard decisions (such as financial goals) with lighter ones (like making more playlists.)

My 2018 Resolutions:

  • Drink more water
  • Wake up at least 15 minutes earlier during the week to have some “me” time
  • Meditate for at least 5 minutes every morning
  • Free myself from credit card debt
  • Try a new recipe 1x a week
  • Create more Spotify channels to go with my moods
  • Take more baths
  • Try a new craft (sewing, drawing?)
  • Be more present
  • Go to more Broadway shows

Here’s to 2018: new adventures, hard lessons and unexpected opportunities. Cheers!

Life

‘Tis the season: 10 gifts for under $25.

I rounded up 10 of my favorite gifts that are under $25. What a steal.

City Glasses Case
Everyone has glasses or sunnies. My favorite part about this gift is that the cases are city-themed. Have a friend in NYC, loves LA or just made a trip to Paris? There’s one for each.
ASOS Scarf
I’ll argue that scarfs are great gifts for anyone. ASOS has beautiful, affordable scarfs.

Madewell Pouch
I love the minimal print of this Madewell pouch. Perfect for an everyday makeup bag or travel pouch.
Glossier Face Paint
Okay, so it’s no surprise I love Glossier. But, I’m telling you, their products are gift-worthy. Not only do I personally use them every day, but each online purchase comes with fun stickers and their signature pink, bubbly bag.

Whiskey Stones
UncommonGoods is a goodie for unique, personal gifts. They have chillers shaped in golf balls, hockey pucks and nautical whiskey stones. Perfect for any hobby.

Vintage Earrings
I love these vintage-looking earrings from Urban Outfitters.

“Cool Enough” Sleeping Mask

Too cool for words.

Bath Salts
These bath salts are a great gift from someone on your list that needs some R&R.

Cat Person Mug

I love, love these mugs from Anthropologie. There’s a mug for every type of person: dog, cat or people person.

W&P Cocktail Kit

Do you have someone on your list that travels? Great. I’ve helped you check someone off your list. W&P makes cocktail-flight kits for all types. My choice is hot toddies; ’tis the season.

Gift Guides, Life, Style

The products that manage my crazy, wavy locks.

When I was a baby, my family had a nickname for me: hair head. Yes you read that right. Over the years, I’ve become extremely grateful for my thick, wavy head of hair. I won’t lie, I still have those days where I envy the girls that can walk out of the shower and their pin straight hair dries beautifully on their walk to work. Surprisingly, there isn’t much information out there on how to manage my type of hair. I’m thankful that my aunt is a phenomenal hairdresser and after testing tons of products, I think I finally have them down.

There are days when I rely on hot tools, but when I let my hair dry naturally I use the below products. For all of you hair heads out there, I hope at least one of these products helps with your hair routine like they do mine. I linked them below!

Links I Love: Broadway, Bershka + Blue Velvet.

This weekend I spent as much time outside as I could – it felt like summer again. I sat outside for brunch, did some food shopping at the local farmer’s market and then sat in the park and read a book. Just this past week I took a walk around Bryant Park, the grass was covered by the ice rink and the holiday market was getting set up. I LOVE the holidays in the city, but I didn’t mind this warm weather one bit. See below for some links, enjoy the rest of your weekend. xx

A brand I stumbled upon during my trip to Portugal and where I got the above sunglasses from, are coming to the U.S.

Have you seen those fences popping up around NYC?

I’m really feeling blue velvet lately.

This NJ native is now on Broadway.

This app is great for social planning and bonus, they have a blog.

Here’s how to up your Instagram game.

Because of this apartment tour I learned what voice fry was. (read the comments)
