I love the idea of decorating your own wrapping paper. It gives an extra personal touch to gift giving. Also, this is super simple and you can definitely get creative with your own designs. I love the idea of the gold dipped tags – cheap to make but super chic looking.
I found all of these items in my local Target, but you can easily find these in your local arts & crafts store.
Items used:
- Acryclic Paint: Gold, Satin, + Red.
- Foam Daubers
- Kraft Paper (make sure it’s heavy weight)
- Construction Paper
- Twine, ribbon, & hang tags are optional if you want to diversify your wrapping.
Other items used: scissors, tape, pencils, a coffee mug.
Directions for Hang Tag:
- Pour the paint in different bowls.
- Cut different shapes out of the construction paper. I used a coffee mug to get circular shapes and I free handed rectangular shapes.
- Dip the shapes into the bowls depending on your color preference. I did corner dips for some tags and I did full bottom dips for others.
- Leave the hang tags to dry over night. I used the twine to hang them on my Christmas tree to dry.
- Once they are dry, wrap and tag!
Directions for Wrapping Paper:
- Pour the paint in different bowls.
- Use the kraft paper to wrap presents.
- Use the foam daubers to dip into the different bowls and then onto the wrapped presents.
- Let dry add ribbon w/ hang tag.
